Your reps log their texts the right way, as SMS and not as calls. Then you ask Claude for an activity dashboard and the texts are missing. Nothing is broken on your side. The connector doesn’t read that type of activity yet.
What the connector reads today
HubSpot’s own documentation lists the engagement types the connector can see: emails, calls, meetings, notes and tasks. I checked my own portal on October 7, 2026 and got the same list back from Claude.
A logged SMS isn’t any of those. HubSpot stores it as a separate object called a communication, the same object it uses for logged WhatsApp and LinkedIn messages. Each record carries a channel type, and SMS is one of the values. Marketing SMS is a different feature again and doesn’t live there.
So the data exists in your portal. The connector has no door to it yet.
Don’t log texts as calls
Claude may suggest relogging texts as calls with a “text” call type. I’d leave your process alone. A HubSpot report that splits calls from texts is worth more than a workaround you’d have to undo when the connector catches up.
How to report on texts in the meantime
Keep HubSpot as the source for SMS counts. Build or reuse an activity report that splits calls from texts. Export it and hand Claude the file alongside the connector data. It’s a manual step.
If you have a developer, HubSpot’s Communications API returns these records, so a small private app can copy daily counts into a sheet Claude can read.
How to ask HubSpot for it
Post the request in HubSpot Ideas with your use case.
